Road Sense Car and Truck Driving School offers Competency Based Assessment (CBA) courses with RTA Accredited Heavy Vehicle driving assessors, which means we train and assess you. No RTA Truck Driving Test required.
Road Sense Car and Truck Driving Schools provides Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment truck training courses for Heavy Combination Trucks, Heavy Rigid Trucks, Medium Rigid Trucks & Light Rigid Trucks. HC, HR, MR, LR.
Heavy Rigid - HR (Synchro or Non-Synchromesh gearboxes)
- Any rigid vehicle with 3 axles or more and a GVM of more than 8 tonnes
- Any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM
- Once course is completed successfully you can then pick up your licence from your local RTA, No RTA Test required
- Bookings can only be taken after RTA Knowledge Test has been passed and logbooks purchased

Under the HVCBA system you are required to be deemed competent on a range of activities that relate to the safety aspects of driving a heavy vehicle.On completion of all required competencies the Assessor will mark off your logbook, once all competencies are completed you will then need to go to the RTA to have your photo and licence upgraded.
50% deposit must be made 48hrs prior to Course Date Via either Direct Deposit or Call 8678 8114 to pay by credit card.

Bookings will automatically be removed if payment has not been received within 48hrs

Heavy Vehicle Course & Lesson Cancellation Policy
Road Sense Driving School reserves the rights to charge a cancellation fee if 72 hours (3 days) notice is not given.

Course Objectives:
This course is designed to train drivers to a competent standard in both theory and practical, which will enable them to pass the relevant NSW RTA testing criteria for theory, skills and practical driving in the category of Heavy Rigid.
Entry Requirements: Drivers participating in this course must have held a Car Licence for a minimum period of 24 months.
Hourly training is also available upon request.

Special Conditions:
- Applicants on Prescribed Medication or with a Medical Condition may require medical Clearance from NSW ROAD TRAFFIC AUTHORITY prior to commencement.
- Interstate Licences must be changed over to a NSW Licence before any Training or Assessment may be undertaken.
- Applicants with an Overseas Licence must have written approval from NSW ROAD TRAFFIC AUTHORITY stating licence category eligible.
- Clearance from NSW ROAD TRAFFIC AUTHORITY may be required before any Training or Assessment may commence.
